I haven’t started 2024 in the best way, I had a minor car collision few evenings ago and I’m definitely at fault.
I was driving in a busy road in Warsaw (4 lanes), the traffic was standstill and I decided to change to my right lane (that is the most right) because in few meters I need to exit the road.
It was pouring rain and rush hour (4PM), I haven’t noticed that on my right there was a pitch black car so I bump into it. The collision was really light, like we were both standstill and while changing lane I was going somettlike 3-5 km/h.
Anyway my front-right bumps into his driver door, we immediately stop to the roadside and he screams that he’s pissed off because someone else also bumped into his car few days before.
Without even checking if he had any damage, he calls the police while never getting outside of his car.
Police comes and hasn’t found any noticeable damage to his car (it was a 3-4 y.o bmw).
I have all recorded in my dashcam, I rewatch the video before the police comes and I’m evidently at fault, so I just explain what happens but I don’t show the video to the police (because I’m already admitting the fault)
Police gave me 1100 zloty fine + 10 points deducted from my driving license.
I’m ok with the fine, but those 10 points seems really a lot. Is it normal that all those points are deducted?
For additional info, this is my first ever accident as daily driver and I have the driving license since 9 years.
