So just one guy confessed, and they are accusing a major part of the entire Belgian professional football because of his information. Yes, they are not yet found guilty, but this means that the investigators believe to have enough evidence against them to go for a conviction.
It’s very unlikely that Veljkovic is the only one running such schemes, or he would have never gotten away with this. It must be endemic, that’s the only reasonable explanation as to why it went on so long without anyone speaking up. If this isn’t a clear sign that Belgian football is rotten to the core, I don’t know what is.
I’d say: burn it all down and start with new, decent people. But I fear that this isn’t a Belgian problem, and the UEFA & FIFA would prevent any non-corrupt Football organisation to exist.
