Hi, my kitchen tap started to leak, and I’m wondering whether to take a look myself or call someone. Seems like easy work to replace the gasket, but I vaguely remember someone might have told me that in Finland it is not allowed to fix anything related to water without qualifications…

Does anyone know about it?

  1. If you live in housing company (asunto-osakeyhtiö) or rent, get maintenance/landlord/management to do it, it is not your responsibility.

If you own the house, you’re free to do what you want. If ypu mess up, your insurance company may have some questions..

  2. As it’s behind the valve of the faucet and not in the pressurized parts, this leak is mostly cosmetic. It should only leak whenever the faucet is on

  3. O-ring inside juoksuputki probably leaking. Easy to change.

Behind faucet theres small thing you can press or use kuuskulma-avain to pull juoksuputki upwards.

You can do it without turning water off, just dont turn faucet on
