  2. Lol, and my stupid ass bought Boing stocks right after the last big dip.

  3. Is that super uncommon? I always got the impression that windshield cracking does happen on airplanes

  4. FYI- windows crack. In Boeings and Airbuses. Likely one per day world-wide. From either impacts (birdstrikes, FOD damage) or from a window overheat issue (cockpit windows are electrically heated for deicing purposes).

    This is just Internet overkill.

  5. This happened me when flying out of Boston to Ireland. The pilot told us about an hour in that during takeoff a bird hit the cockpit window, and now they see a crack developing. They said it’s not an issue as there are multiple layers of glass, but they have to divert due to FAA rules. We ended up spending a night in the small isolated town of st John’s (pretty much the farthest tip of eastern Canada). Was really interesting to see it, and due to the liquid rule we had to all drink our duty free booze as it wouldn’t be allowed as carry on again. Was a fun night!!

Edit: apparently it’s not small at all, but I still got that vibe from it but only was there for a few hours…. As a plus bonus I found it funny that the accent there sounds really like the Irish accent from co. Waterford!

  6. At this point, I will not take any plane that is made by Boeing.

  7. Common occurrence makes news as Boeing stock plummets. Planned almost.

  8. How it started: “If it ain’t Boeing I ain’t going”

    How it’s going: “If it’s Boeing I ain’t going”

    How times change

  9. Airplane suffered common maintenance issues that plague *checks notes* all airplanes.

  10. Was on one of these flights back in 2019. The process sucks because they fly back low and slow, but it was uneventful and handled professionally. Only downside was the delay.

  11. This may be a common maintenance issue, but if I was flying a 737 I’d rather be safe than sorry given all the incidents that have occurred with the quality of the aircraft.

  12. Seriously, fuck this greedy Boeing corporation! Probably downgraded the windows to save a dollar.

  13. This happened to me once! On my first transatlantic flight.

Was over Newfoundland and the captain pops on and says 4 of the 6 windows had cracked (or something like that), and that we’d be diverting to Boston.

I was an unaccompanied minor, and the crew could sense I was unsettled. They popped my little ass into first class when we left from Boston after switching planes. Still the only time I’ve flown in first on an international flight!

  14. “This is what you get when you hire too many Black people” – Elon Musk, soon

  15. I didn’t need to open the article to know it’s a Boeing.
