  1. Not from galway but unfortunately dealt with galway traffic a few times surely this ring road is a good thing?
I know greens have this thing where traffic moving fast emits more emissions but surely idling cars sitting in traffic is worse?

  2. What other fuckin plan then do they have? Really they have no fuckin idea about what shite needs doing anywhere outside of dublin, all that theyd do is just keep delaying shite until the infrastructure is decades behind if they could.

    Bunch of bloody crazies.

  3. I love how this sub will rage about how terrible our public transport is and then support a ridiculous project like this.

I am very disappointed that they didn’t make this a red line issue. They should’ve conceded any objection the Limerick-Cork motorway in exchange for this not happening.

  4. Not familiar with Galway, but looking at the road network on the map it seems if you want to go anywhere from anywhere you’re going through Galway.

  5. The problem with any of these plans/ring roads is they don’t fix the problem, they just move it further down the road
Take Dunshauglin, it was a disaster, so they spent millions and built a huge motorway up the middle of historical Meath
Now what do we have? Well a huge bottleneck at Virginia and now everyone wants another Ringroad

The only long term fix is to build a proper public transport system
