January 13 is very important to Lithuania. This day is symbol of Lithuania unity and freedom fight. Thousands of people were prepared to be crushed by the tanks than allow them to pass.
Main event of this day – defence of TV tower and parlament.
As Lithuanian on this day I want to thank – Norway.
After soviet union, communication with the world was possible only throu Moscow. Norwegian Telecom gifted satellite dish and system that allowed Lithuania reach the world directly not throu Moscow.
And certain people still think the ussr was great…
And then 27% fled to Israel, Russia, and other places to avoid another genocide like the Lithuanians did in the 1940’s…
