Gonçalo Ramos’ reduced utilisation at PSG, especially in the recent past, has led the French press to report that Luis Enrique, the Parisians’ coach, is unhappy with the options available for attack, including the Portuguese forward.
Record has confirmed that this is not the case and that, in the specific case of the forward signed from Benfica, there was even a health problem, not disclosed by the French club or the player, which affected the footballer. Gonçalo Ramos, 22, has been suffering from a strong viral infection in recent weeks, which has even caused him to lose six kilos, among other complications. The situation hampered the player in training and led to him being used less in December (just one minute). Later, still weakened, Gonçalo Ramos started and scored in the French Cup against US Revel on 7 January.
In fact, Record has learnt that during his trip to Portugal for Christmas, when his condition worsened, Gonçalo Ramos was admitted to hospital. At the time, PSG asked Benfica to help with the logistics and monitoring of the striker, a situation that was promptly accepted by the club from Luz.
Now, the Portuguese player is practically fit and even close to fully recovering the weight he lost. And the goal, of course, is to fight for a place in PSG’s starting line-up. The striker has played 19 games this season, 10 as a starter, and scored four goals.
Yeah still sus. I don’t know why the club would hide this information, we get weekly health updates and this was never mentioned. If it’s true, hopefully he can recover from it and maybe one day he can be our starting 9 even if i don’t see Lucho counting on him.
