I feel super scammed right now. But this stuff is legit.

Just now got this mail asking for money for using a small stretch of toll road in italy which had no toll booths. Quick research shows it’s a “free flow toll system”. The stretch I drove was only 5km which they say was 1,07€ in tolls but they then put fees on top making it 10,59€. They had the date, time and my license plate and were able to find my address this way I guess.

Apparently there are reports of people having to pay a 30€ fee on top of 24€ of an actual tolls.

    Sure. As long as you don‘t have a transponder.
    Or did you mistake the „*free flow* toll system“ for a „*free* flow toll system“?

    Of course it is. You used a strech of toll road without paying for it.

    That‘s what the 10,59€ are for. Actually quite cheap.
