>The ratification of Sweden’s NATO membership was on the agenda of the parliament returning from recess today. However, it was only at the end of the agenda, in point 42, and was thus not dealt with yet.

I’ll believe it when I see it. Actually, at this point, after all this back and forth, I’d probably need some extra confirmation, like a personal letter from the government.
Hopefully. 🙏🏾 we should be stronger together
Is this what we have come to call a “Turkish promise”? Cause as a Swede I trust that about as far as I can singlehandedly trow Orban 😥
Bruh.
What was inevitably going to happen, happens. Just a matter of what they could get in return
I really hope they get this done soon.
For some reason I’m not entirely convinced..
Best believe that cocksucker orban will drag this shit show for as long as he can…
Gripens for Ukraine right after the accession, please
And if it happens we should celebrate with a delicious kebab pizza 🍕
Since when do they need Turkey’s approval? Turkey is the most non-NATO country in NATO!
This has been a very humiliating ride for Sweden so far.
I thought there was an understanding between them that Hungary would ratify 5 minutes before Turkey, like they did with Finland. They even said “we won’t be the last one”. But Hungary has pointedly not even scheduled it on the parliamentary agenda.
So either weird things happen tomorrow or it’s all baloney. The latter is more likely.
That would be pretty amazing
It’d be cool, but seeing how Erdogan is nothing but a bullshit peddler, I’m not exactly optimistic.
This title could have been made any day after Sweden set their goal to be part of NATO
Oh good – I am glad they made sure it was a breeze.
Opposite to everyone who doubts it (or being sarcastic about it) ofc this was gonna happen. Erdogan tried to use it for leverage and played for internal politics. We dont know if he got what he wanted or not but it is good to see Sweden in NATO regardless. I dont know why they waited to join for too long but I guess they had their reasons?
erdo got robbed again turkey shouldnt allow sweden to join nato unless they let turkey join the eu
A suprise to be sure, but a pleasant one.
Usual caveats do apply with the outmost prejudice.
Both Nato and EU need to get rid of the single vote veto-system, it is unacceptable keep as political hostage a nation.
