Someone posted a few days ago about passive aggressive things in-laws do while at your house. So I thought I’d share the life-sized fireplace my MIL stuck to our wall where she thinks something is lacking. Excuse the brown wallpaper, it came with the house!

I think this is very enterprising activity under taken by your mother law for something that is, a joke? Or it is actually there as a comforting decoration?
I think I like it, maybe this is the way forward.
She has too much time on her hands, that said, I love the attention to detail.
Why don’t you pop round to theirs and stencil up a set of bifolds.

Ha! I had neighbors years ago who put up an architectural salvage mantle and jambs in the living room of their apartment. They wanted a shelf in that spot, but thought it looked weird all by itself. Using that space as a fireplace made it blend in better, despite of the black painted firebox section having a large chintz rise pasted in there.

I like it lol. I have a flat. I’d stick it up
