Belgium currently holds the presidency of the European Council, and in that capacity our country presented the priorities on migration. During the debate in Strasbourg, Vlaams Belang MP Tom Vandendriessche (Vlaams Belang) lashed out at the new European migration pact.
According to Vandendriessche, that pact does not have the intention to reduce illegal migration at all, on the contrary: with the pact, the European Union does not want to attract more migration. “European Commissioner Ylva Johansson openly admits it: there are too few European births and she wants to replace them by importing 4.5 million non-Europeans a year. Deliberate, organized repopulation.”
The word “omvolking” (organized repopulation) caused several MEPs to prickle.Parliament President Roberta Metsola announced an investigation into a possible violation of Article 10 of the internal regulations.
