With Orban such an obvious Russian puppet, and the sole holdout obstructing a consensus, removing their voting privilege is certainly in order. Otherwise might as well cede EU authority to Putin.
In the end Orban will not be able to block anything, I think. He might not even care much himself, since he can say he tried everything and can blame Brussels for his own audience. Europe can temporarily keep him under control by taking away money and voting rights, while waiting him out (or that’s the hope).

There is something about his face as if he was saying: “I don’t know what I’m doing but Vlad pats me on my head so I think I am doing the right thing?”
Sounds like Poland replacing their far right party stripped away Orban’s cover. It will be interesting now to see what happens on this vote and going forward.
Guess there is such as thing as pushing too far. You’d have to think they wouldn’t take it this far unless they were quite sure that they could get the votes to do so.
And for the love of Christ – it’s damn good. To let a corrupt populist stooge neuter their foreign policy when Russia is not remotely shy about bringing war to their doorstep, and not have anything do about it…because ‘rules are rules’

About damn time! How many votes do EU need to take away Hungary’s veto right? That SOB should be voted away or Hungary has no business single-handedly block the aid in EU on behalf of Putin!

Although I am in favor of blocking single countries from blocking the will of the majority. Rescinding Hungary of voting rights could only drive Hungary closer to Russia, perhaps having them leave the EU and joining with BRICS. The plan after is rescinding is very important.
