  1. Let me guess, now it’s private, too big to fail, tax payer bailout incoming… (no I didnt read the article ;p )

  2. The theory it owes this tax may be wrong, the bloke saying it seems like a tax collector zealot.

  3. Time for nationalised royal mail again lol oh and taking back the railways will be in order as well…

  4. They’ve probably spent more than that on legal bills progressing this travesty, then obstructing for over a decade.

  5. I’d you listen really carefully, you can hear the word “Diddums” getting it’s winter coat on and looking for its keys.

  6. If the post office is government owned and owes money to the government is that really a problem?

  7. Superb no more bills delivered from other privatised utilities

  8. You’d think they’d have insurance to pay out for this even tho it’s Fujitsu or fushitsu as I call em fault and they should cough up

  9. Sooo the post office sells stamps etc, but royal mail actually move all the post around?

Anyone briefly explain the split in responsibilities?

  10. By design. Run it into the ground via cutting off it’s funding. Blame the service for running into the ground because it got gutted. Claim that it needs privatisation. Sell off to their mates. Act surprised when it fails. Walk away with profit.

    Repeat.

  11. Nationalise it for £1 once it goes into administration. Good enough for Brawn GP.

  12. Well as long as the debts are reclaimed from those people that’ve made millions from bad management.

  13. Perhaps the billionaire owner of Bet365 could buy the Post Office and the UK arm of Fujitsu and make them her bitches.

  14. The amount of people blaming PRIVATISATION 😡 and getting up-voted here really hammers home how this sub has literally one talking point.

  15. >Recent accounts, the MoS reported, showed Fujitsu has not said any money aside for payouts as no legal action has been taken against it so far.

Probably the most interesting part of this article. Why have they not gone after the supplier? I feel like there may be some diplomatic reasons, but all the same if there’s a big bill to be paid for a cockup, that bill should at least be somewhat shared by the people responsible.

  16. Very convenient they have been trying to destroy Royal Mail for years

  17. People behind this and who work at Fujitsu need to go to prison for fraud.

  18. That’s what shareholders are for… when businesses need more money. Oh and maybe claw back fraudulently ‘earnt’ bonuses

  19. What will all the banks do then. They can’t close branches and say well you have a post office

  20. If they are that short of money, perhaps they should find some software to see if anyone has been stealing from the company.

  21. I too, could face bankruptcy over my tax bill, if I did not put aside the money I made to paid for said bill. Are they expecting a special treatment when everyone else does not?

  22. Time to privatise is, bang costs up, govt have nothing to manage anymore but can make even more money through corp tax (at the peasants/our expense of course).

  23. Funny how they privatised it, accused staff of fraud and imprisoned the innocent. Now they cant pay the tax and are gonna go bankrupt just in time to avoid paying out all the innocent people caught up in the horizon scandal! What a coincidence, how much did they make since going private??? Bet its billions!
