Hello! I am a Filipina who will be moving to Switzerland by March for work. One of the things that I am currently researching about is choosing the right healthcare insurance. As a first timer living in Switzerland, are there any factors I should consider in choosing? Also, for context I don’t have any existing conditions. Is it also best to choose supplemental insurance or just the basic one?
I dont have any basis as to what to expect. What is the safest answer to the question “Am I expecting to exceed 2000 or I am not expecting to exceed 2000?
Thank you in adv for your answers.

This highly depends on you, but, to put things into context, a normal consultation will not exceed 200CHF and most healthy people will not pass 1000CHF each year. But if you are planning to have a baby or something like that, you will pay more, obviously.
Please note that any potential accident is not included here if you are employed. The company has to do an accident insurance for you that will cover any potential expense related to any accident (not only working accidents)
The easiest way is this:
Can you afford to pay 3,200 (2,500+700 on 10%) if something goes wrong? If so, and you have the emergency money secured, then you go for the high deductible.
If not, and you would go bankrupt, then it’s a gamble.
Go for 300 CHF. Even if it turns out that you never went to a doctor, just for peace of mind. You are in a new country and have no idea what kind of costs you‘ll encounter. You can change this every autumn for the next year.
