Sounds like PR. All fun and games until they move out of the country. The world needs global minimum tax treaties or something to solve vampire nations from stealing the rich with their ridiculous low tax.

Why is the answer always ‘the Government should do more’ never ‘we should do more’?
They could certainly stop avoiding taxes with shady loopholes. But sure, making a statement is also really nice.

Why don’t the rich start sharing their wealth instead of waiting for the tax? Is it that hard to find another solution if they want more tax?

It would be fun if someone listed how many of them use tax evasion schemes and opposed such taxes in their own countries.
They pro claim this loudly of your wealth to your government right now. You do not need to wait until the law passes.
They always says this stuff to the press, while at the same time funding tanks and lobby groups to say the opposite.
Maybe the rich should stop bribing politicians to lower their taxes. Maybe the rich should bring their money back to their local banks so that the money can actually be taxed. Merely telling politicians to tax them is not enough.
Add the prefix -Try to
this world will fade due to a lack of strong political leadership while the richest entrench themselves, which eventually leads to a lesser world for even the rich to live in.
Their children will live in a less peaceful world, less safe places to live, and less quality educational institutions.
Fall of Rome was pretty much similar to this.
