I’m so glad we signed Kepa. Because I think the competition has helped Lunin improve considerably. When Andriy’s the backup to Courtois, the hierarchy is already well established— it’s hard to improve when you know you’re not playing over the best goalkeeper in the world.

Obviously Madrid’s number 1 is Courtois. However between those 2, Lunin any day any time.
He has massively improved within the last couple of years. Good to see it.
Ancelotti and co. obviously know better on how to handle these situations but personally I would have liked it if we could stick with one keeper for La Liga and the Champions League.
For me, I would just stick with Lunin given that he looks more comfortable dealing with crosses and corners — which our defenders besides Rudiger don’t seem very comfortable at. Lunin also emits more assuredness at the back and consequently gives more confidence to the defenders from what I notice in games.
