Is every patient tested for covid when being admitted to hospital?
Hardly news at this stage, lots of people positive close contacts are reporting they had flu symptoms and got tested, then there’s hospital visits that require test, regardless they aren’t there for covid, that number last reported was 30%.
Omnicron resulting in mild symptoms is good, dunno why it isn’t outlined more as literally it means end of pandemic, at this stage, as come summer if no new strains, with numbers getting it we will have most pop vaccinated and prob half that also had covid.
It’s very hard to see anyone keeping track of it, as unlike delta, with omnicron these situations are more like flu, granted there might be more extreme cases, but it must be very rare. As media loves misery and they hadn’t a chance to spread it.
Starting to really hope that this might be the end of it all. Sure covid will likely never disappear, but if it continues as it appears to be the connection between high cases and hospitalisation/icu will have been broken.
I’d expect the gov will remain cautious for a few weeks but I’m hopeful restrictions will ease off toward the end of the month.
So wait are people being admitted to hospital because of covid or with covid. Because they’ve been make it look like it’s because of covid. But this report would suggest the opposite.

I was called a conspiracy theorist there like a week ago on this subreddit for implying that Tony Holohan’s comments about “90% of people are in hospital being treated for covid” were cherry picked bullshit.
Numbers didn’t match with other countries numbers (roughly 60-70% in SA, London and Denmark) and I knew they were being very fucking generous with their definition of “treated for covid”.
The Omicron came along to throw us a bone after we were completely failing at containing and beating the virus…imagine if it mutated into a more deadly variant.
No symptoms? What a fucking joke. How anyone can take the daily numbers seriously is beyond me.
I wish I had been one of those many.
Omicron is fast becoming my favourite letter of the Greek alphabet.
