aye, should convert it to student flats instead. Think of the views you’d get from there!
I mean, in 20 years it’ll be underwater anyway.
I find it hilarious how they can say this with a straight face after last the skyrocketing price of fuel over the last few years purely down to Russia finally being hit with the consquences of their actions.
How the fuck is energy not considered a matter of national security to these chucklefucks.
Also this screams of the 2014 era “the oil is 2 days from running out, “the oil fields are not profitable” lines we heard over and over.
If Scotland was free they would give it all the money it needs.
Those nasty English are at it again s
Countries aren’t businesses. Having a refinery is a good idea.
Gotta love the idea of oil being drilled in british waters, sold off to some rando country, refinded some places 1000s miles way.. just to be shipped back to us and sold to us at a mark up…
Makes alot of sense /s
I understand the argument for having energy security, but why in a time of transitioning away from oil would the government want to sink money into a “doomed” refinery?
My assumption is that it is an asset that is losing its worth on a daily basis as all governments push towards green energy. The refinery and clean up costs I assume would then become the responsibility of the government, and therefore us as the taxpayers. I for one would like to see good return on the taxes we pay, so without seeing any of the details of this I have to take it at face value.
Two cents and all that.
Humza should nationalise it
Perhaps the Scottish govt can find the money to do so.
How much did the UK Gov waste on Oneweb, how much did they waste on Tata Steel, why not this?
