  1. The French Government told a Court that it can not evacuate a french citizen living in Gaza because she is a major security threat. Yasmine Znaïdi has moved to Gaza with her son in 2016.

    Znaïdi is facing an international arrest warrant and has been indicted for terrorism. She is accused of financing Jihadi groups in Syria, as well as Hamas and the Islamic Jihad.

    She requested an emergency evacuation to France, which the French Consulate in Israel has not provided. Znaïdi has hired lawyers to sue the French Government.

    In december, a Paris judge ruled the French Consulate in Israel must immediately give her documents and evacuate her. The judge said her human rights might be at stake.

    The French government has appealed the court decision, arguing she is a national security threat.

  9. The US government did something similar, a woman joined Isis, left the country, and joined a foreign terrorist organization. They revoked her citizenship, so when she finally decided she did not like being a woman in Isis, she could never return.

  12. People seem to have this mistaken idea that just because you are a citizen the government is obligated to come rescue you from whatever shit situation you get into anywhere in the world you might be.

    Thats not how it works. The government has no absolute responsibility to rescue you when you choose to do something like go to a dangerous territory that is at high risk of violence. She FA and now is FO.

    France can’t enter Gaza to get her.

    She can leave Gaza whenever she wants but she need a special paper to come back to France, I guess she want to avoid getting arrested in Egypt.

    By trying to jump over Egypt, it is more complicated but she the one complicating thing

    Since she has a international arrest warrant, we would have to negociate with Israel and Egypt to let her get out. French state is not the only player thus they don’t feel like it is their entire responsability.

    We should let her get arrested by Egypt, let her experience the Prison culture in Egypt and then go get her.

  30. Is this a fucking joke? Did a literal terrorist ask to be evacuated or did someone apply for her? Pretty sure in most countries they revoke your citizenship after you become a terrorist.
