  1. *”Life’s struggles overcame him.”*

Such a heartbreaking sentence, isn’t it?

  2. Honestly, this is my worst nightmare. These people were once somebody’s little kid playing in the sand.

  3. Where is the anger and outrage? People really need to protest about how the government has neglected its own people.

    Rest in peace.

  4. I see this in my future. I can’t stop thinking about it. Eventually my body will be unable to continue the work I do and I won’t able to pay my rent, I have little other options other than homelessness at that point, knowing myself the way I do I’ll probably dive fully into the drink and freeze in some forgotten alley. I know it’s very defeatist and pathetic but it occupies my mind everyday and I can’t foresee anything else.

  5. If anyone feels moved by this article I would urge you to donate to Merchants Quay. The organisation does tough and wonderful work on the ground , without the ( and forgive the cynicism here but I’ve come across this first hand ) more palatable “instagramable” portrayals other big charities lean on.

  6. Life’s struggles will overcome each and every one of us eventually.

  7. >‘Unfortunately life’s struggles overcame him

Hell of a way to say he died because of the complacency and greed of people in power who put shitty policies into place. People who have refused to meet the needs of social housing and medical care.
He died because of their failure, and they wont lose a wink of sleep over it. Bastards.

  8. I knew him as a youth. Good guy from windy arbour. Very sad

  9. What have we become a nation fighting over whos the blame for this mans death the government he was an addict wouldn’t accept help chosed to lie down and freeze to death come on he was sum one son brother uncle father and died tragically every one should have shelter regardless off the situation

  10. A father of two.

I find that I could’ve dealt with any challenge life threw me when I was single with no kids. It only affected me. I could’ve lived in any conditions.

Now I have a wife and 2 kids the weight on me personally of every challenge is 4x fold.

I really feel for that man.
