>The Scottish Conservatives claim that roads spending has reduced by 95 per cent is misleading. Spending has reduced since 2016-17, but the statistics cited by the party only refer to major capital spending and do not include routine road maintenance. The figures used also do not include spending on dualling the A9 to Inverness.
The A9 is a canal, after all.
……does not include duelling the A9?
How’s that going?
The Tories make a false claim? Well I never
> However, this figure does not include spending on the dualling of the A9 road between Perth and Inverness, which was not included in the FoI response.
Feels like the Ferret have missed a very obvious question here.
WHY did the FoI response not include the A9 work?
Have just returned from an Asia trip and I can confirm Vietnam and Thailand have far superior roads to Scotland and they still use water buffalo in some places to transport goods. Scottish roads are not fit for donkeys and just an embarrassment.
Something important to think about here is to ask what the numbers are behind any claim. Especially following the pandemic where so many things changed dramatically.
By picking the right snapshot to compare against you can make lots of misleading claims that have a grain of truth
Conservatives, how can we make people remember we exist. Let’s just make up bullshit since we’re not accountable right now or ever
