  1. > A second school accused of Islamophobia may be forced to close its doors over its headteacher’s decision to ban children from wearing pro-Palestinian badges, The Telegraph can reveal.

    > Barclay Primary School in Leyton, east London, sent a letter to parents warning that it may have to “revert to online learning” if the safety of children and staff cannot be guaranteed after it had received bomb threats over the policy.

These threats of violence are so rare though. An isolated case, no doubt.

  2. Where are the police? And given that this has now happened several times, why are these mobs not being immediately dispersed and the threats investigated as terroristic?

    > Before Christmas, masked men had climbed the school’s fence at night to hang Palestinian flags around its perimeter and protesters gathered outside the school chanting: “Barclay, shame on you” and **“education is under attack”**.

    It certainly is.

  3. Just remember everyone, these are peaceful protests and its Tommy Robinson and the ‘far right’ who are the real problem in this country

  4. It’s always violence, intolerance, more violence and intimidation until they get their way.

Its well past time we had a very serious discussion about whether Islamism and, freedom and democracy are even compatible.

If we keep kicking the can down the road, then we risk handing our kids, and their kids an absolute nightmare.

  5. UK police in “not protecting nation’s kids” shocker

  6. Tolerance of intolerance is just tacit support for intolerance. I assume as usual we’ll look the other way though, and whoever is the most threatening or extreme will get their way. We’ll then pretend we don’t know why society keeps sliding.

Half of my closest friends, and also my girlfriend, are immigrants, but if you can’t assimilate to or at least not actively challenge our culture and rule of law, then you can fuck right off. Anyone who wants a backwards theocratic dictatorship can go and live in one.

  7. The first line of the article says:

    > …over its headteacher’s decision to ban children from wearing pro-Palestinian badges…

…but this isn’t even what happened. Sounds bad, doesn’t it? But read down and you see:

    > The school had asked parents to stop sending their children to the school wearing any items alluding to political allegiance.

Ah – so they didn’t take sides as the journalists implied. So these Telegraph journalists are themselves pouring fuel over the fire by using loaded language.

    > Glass bottles were tossed over the railings and a brick was thrown through one teacher’s window, leaving staff “fearing for their lives”.

We should call out what is happening for what it is: violence for political ends is terrorism, and should be treated as such. And The Telegraph is complicit by fuelling it, as above.
