  1. Hamas doesn’t and won’t agree to hostage release let alone disbanding

  2. Perfectly reasonable, as are the US demands that Israel provide a guarantee for a Palestinian state.

But of course the hardline nutcases on both sides will reject it.

  3. Seems like the one who doesn’t want a ceasefire is Hamas

  4. That’s a ceasefire most people would support. Too bad there’s no way in hell Hamas would agree..

  5. Will be interesting to see how the left will blame Israel for Palestine not agreeing to this.

  6. I assume this means the calls for unilateral Israeli ceasefire will stop now?

  7. But who will govern in Hamas’ place in The short, mid and long term? Just disbanding Hamas doesn’t mean extremism and extremist groups won’t resurface.

  8. I find it funny that any mention of a ceasefire here is met with ‘b-b-but Hamas would never agree’ yet Israel is openly saying not even international law will stop their war machine

  9. So many articles about the EU adopting a ceasefire resolution seem to ignore that it calls for preconditions that easily 90% of Israelis would even agree to. A lot of US Congressmen calling for a ceasefire have a similar stance but they’re counted as supporting unilateral ceasefires anyways.

  10. >Hamas dismantling

I think this would be absolutely essential. If Palestine wants peace in any aspect, they need to make sure the terrorist party they elected in Gaza, that started this war, is not able to hold their territory hostage again

  11. I thought I was reading UN. What a breath of fresh air if it is.

  12. Situation in Israel is same bef/aft this resolution.

It’s basically just the EU finally understanding that they’re in the same boat as Israel, and they prefer to stop this thing before it hits Europe.
