Driver crashes into Manhattan restaurant while fleeing police #shorts
A Manhattan restaurant owner posted dramatic CCTV footage showing the moment a driver fleeing police smashed into his storefront early New Year’s Day.
Video captured at 1:37 am on Monday shows the vehicle crashing through the front of Chirp, a Peruvian restaurant located at 34th Street and Ninth Avenue.
According to police, the driver plowed onto the sidewalk as officers chased him amid reports he was assaulting a passenger in the car. The vehicle crashed into a food truck and injured nine people. Actress Carrie Bernans was reportedly one of the people injured.
Chirp owner Boris Torres said an outdoor-dining addition built during the pandemic suffered most of the damage.
Torres told local media he chalked the mayhem up to New Year’s celebrations in the city, adding that his store was robbed on a previous New Year’s.

Serves them right, they didn't have their "Not A Drive-Thru" sign out.
Terrible. I hope no innocent people were hurt.
