Sadly not enough info. I imagine there are people reading this and vilifying the dog. Whereas people can say that it was an “aggressive breed”, at least some responsibility falls on the owners. At the very least, if they knew that there was a chance of aggression, a muzzle should have been put on.
My boss, a couple of years ago, had to deal with a dog attack nearby our factory, where a loose dog had attacked a woman. Was it wholly the dogs fault? No. Turned out the owner had previously been in court for mistreatment of dogs classified as potentially dangerous (mastiff breeds). The dog had to be put down as a result, and the owner got banned from keeping dogs for life (not enough of you ask me). In my eyes, the dog wouldn’t have done such a thing without proper training, care, and mindfulness to stop it from getting out. Alas, people jump to blame the dog sometimes, and forget that there are more factors involved
