    The flight was JAL 516, a newly delivered Airbus A350-900 (callsign JA13XJ) and it was landing on runway 16L/34R while it collided with a Coast Guard De Havilland dash 8 at 8:47 UTC (callsign JA722A)
    It is still unclear if the collision was caused by ATC or Pilot error

    This is the first major crash involving a A350 and first hull lost of the A350

    This is also the first major crash for JAL since 1985

  5. I wonder if the Coast Guard plane was familiar with the runway layout or a first time visitor at this busy airport or whether there was a lack of clarity in an ATC direction?
