Did the EU really expect that shoving money into the western Balkans would make a difference in anything else except making some people richer? How fckng naive are those people in Brussels?
Not only that, it was detrimental to rule of law in Bulgaria. Bulgarian mafia party from ALDE took control of EU funds, and use them to increase their influence, but because they are “muh liberals” nobody from the west wanna talk about that, so they also give them a political umbrella to hide under.

You dont go and give money to these corrupt politicians and then expect from them to implement the rule of law.
Although the people of these countries want it,the politicians that rule,definitely dont want it.
And as a person from western balkans,i fully understand the feeling of EU citizens being more and more eurosceptics.They investing alot of money in these countries and the people of these countries aren’t getting any change.Only corrupt bureaucrats getting more richer.
It’s time for Europe to stop slapping wrists and start with punches.
Can anybody explain why it worked in Poland but not in Balkans?
Throwing money to corrupt officials so that they won’t be corrupt anymore, is just like eating bean soup so that you won’t fart.
