Anti-roma discrimination is a very fluid and contextual concept. Oftentimes it’s public outrage, that results from roma parents exploiting child support schemes, forcing their kids into begging or stealing (therefore leaving them illiterate), and evading taxes, despite living in large manors and driving luxury cars. Did I mention that their ghettos are the epicenter of organised crime, sex slavery and human trafficking?
It’s a multi-layered problem. The roma communities enjoy being seen as victims and western reporters fall for it.
Yes, instances where roma individuals suffer from unfounded aggression occur and it should be addressed, but it’s not the whole story.
