  1. >Gardaí and teachers are warning that there are simply not enough resources available to move to areas most ‘under pressure’ from the arrival of asylum seekers.

    >It comes after the Taoiseach said he was asking all his ministers to put together a special package of resources for the 10 districts in the country that have taken in the highest proportion of refugees and asylum seekers.

It looks like Varadkar made grand promises and didn’t even consult the actual people who make up those promises.

I’m convinced that Fine Gael doesn’t view these people as people, they just view them as resources that can be shifted and moved on a whim, and do so only to try and get a bump in popularity.

This is both unfair not only to the Gardaí and the teachers, but the refugees and asylum seekers that are going to be let down when these grand promises don’t come true as well.

  2. I find it interesting they mention that a lot of smaller stations had their staff taken to supply district headquarters. I was in my local district headquarters last week and the place was beyond empty. No one manning the desks and I was actually asked to leave because there was no one around and said person was locking up. I was there for 2 hours and not a soul to be found. The understaffing must be brutal.

  3. He was spouting bullshit in an interview with euronews yesterday in Davos about how great FG has done since getting into power. Complete and utter lying gobshite. Most politicians are the same . They are not qualified enough to do their jobs, and they somehow get away with rambling nonsensical answers. More professionals are needed in Dail Eireann. More learning , upskilling , appraisals, and qualifications should be required for the existing crew.

  4. What they won’t tell you is that they get lots of recruits but they all piss off to Ozz and Other parts of Europe after they finish or don’t finish training. Conditions for cops in this country are shit

  5. Excuse my fucking french here but PAY THE FUCKING LADS A FUCKING LIVING WAGE AND MAYBE THEY MIGHT FUCKING BE ABLE TO SURVIVE YOU MEAN FUCKING CUNTS!

Sorry but this shit really fucking annoys me… No one wants to be a teacher or a guard. What levers do we have? Lower requirements? Increase retirement age? Or pay them more? Nah the first two are more depressing and free!

Every level of civil servant needs a 10k kick up the hole because the amount of hoops and Ballox you have to go through to be starting at 25k is ridiculous and barbaric. I dont give a fuck about taxes. We paid them all proportionally more 15 years ago “somehow” why the fuck can’t we do it now?

  6. I have already seen this gov send untrained, underpaid civil servants to the front during COVID and the Ukraine crisis so I half expect them to have year 1 CO’s standing outside refugee centres any day now.

  7. Didn’t he also say we are more than likely going to pay “fines” to our European overlords to take in less international protection applicants. If the money is leaving the Irish economy would we not be better off spending it on the Garda to keep order on the frictious relationship between new arrivals and local residents.

  8. Anything to be said for leaving the EU???
Brussels seems to be giving us an awful.riding with this migration.

We can turn migrants down but really we can’t
