  1. 2x of NATO requirment from one of the poorest EU member states, meanwhile “leader” of Europe Germany spends 1.4% and is now panicking that Trump’s USA is done defending their welfare state. Maybe that leader of Europe should do something worthwhile that title.

  2. >Defence expenditure level planned exceeds PLN 118 bn., or ca. USD 29 bn, translating into 3.1% of GDP. The contribution of the defence spending to the GDP, including the outside-the-budget financing is to reach 4.2% (approx. PLN 158 bn).

Hoo boy. More out-of-budget spending. Let me guess, it’ll be financed by government bonds too?

Anyway, it is definitely an increase, though it’s not the full 5% from 2022.

  3. Wish Germany would follow suit. It’s time to build our military to kick some Russian asses

  4. Sure it would be better to invest that money into education or infrastructure, yes, but wars are a sad reality that we can’t ignore. We need military capabilities to defend our loved ones, friends and our western morals & values. So go Poland 🇵🇱🇪🇺🇩🇪🇺🇦

  5. Props to the Polish for this. But we all need to do more.

  6. U.S. Army, General Patton… “We promised the Europeans freedom. It would be worse than dishonorable not to see they have it. This might mean war with the Russians, but what of it? They have no Air Force anymore , their gasoline and ammunition supplies are low. I’ve seen their miserable supply trains; mostly wagons draw by beaten up old hoses or oxen.
I’ll say this ; the Third Army alone with very little help and with
damned few casulaties, could lick what is left of the Russians in six weeks. You mark my words. Don’t ever forget them. Someday we will have to fight them and it will take six years and cost us six million lives.”

  7. “Speak softly and carry a big stick.”

There is of course the problem, that Poland itself has some democratic problems, but any nation has to be able to defend itself. And for now and the near future, Poland is our ally so we should welcome this, and match it (or at least do 2 pct.)

  8. Wow, 4.2% is huge! Poland is really stepping up its defense game ( I know they were above 2% before). Great news.

  9. I would like to know how much of that might help Ukraine to supply them with arty shells, i am not complaining but I believe after replenishing outdated materials they will build infrastructure to supply a long war and outside the frontier of Russia, might it be enough to fill a big gap of what Ukraine need monthly?

  10. Sic vis pacem. Parabellum.

Poles have been fucked with enough times for them to say never again.

  11. Si vis pacem, para bellum

EU countries have been filled with negligence and fear when death is knocking at their door. Poland and Baltic countries are the only ones realising how dangerous the situation has been before 2022.

EU politicians are still not taking the threats from Putin seriously. Same thing happened in the 1930s.

  12. All the money that citizens earn are going more and more to arms but not for the development of humanity, globally.

  13. How much of that will be spent gluing wings onto cavalry uniforms tho?

  14. What do you expect? Russia is only one country away from Poland (excluding that one tiny slither of Russia in the North East of Poland).
