I wish I’d known then what we all know now the post office was lying on an industrial scale to me another ministers and when I met uh Adam bate and listened to his concerns I put those concerns to the officials in my department to the post office to National Federation of

Postmasters and it’s clear they all were lying to me and my heart goes out to all those people we need to make sure their convictions are overturned and we need to make sure they are fairly compet ated and quickly

Sir Ed Davey has been under fire as the Post Office Scandal was the subject of an ITV drama, and he served as postal affairs minister from 2010 to 2012. Speaking to broadcasters, the now Lib Dem leader said: “I wish I had known then what we all know now, the Post Office was lying on an industrial scale to me and other ministers.”

  1. Said the man who turned a 'deaf ear' to all those Post masters who contacted him complaining they had been wrongly accused. This guy should be ashamed of himself and should resign from politics immediately – something he will not do as he does not have the bottle nor any honour.

  2. Ed AND the other Lib Dem’s with governmental oversight of the post office at the time , are political liabilities to their party at the next election .

This WILL DESTROY them on the doorsteps , no one likes when people in power trample on the little people , and there are a lot of minorities in this , which is another political minefield .

Mr Bates asked him for a meeting , and he REFUSED IT. This man is dead in the water politically , his party should replace him ASAP .

  3. Name the officials , nam3 the apostle Office Director’s , Name the Software companies management that covered it up ED , don’t just say “ it was not me guv’

  4. If they lied and those lies directly lead to false convictions surely they have committed some sort of criminal offence? They had to have turned over "evidence" to the police that they knew was false. That's a criminal offence. They need to go to prison.

  5. Nothing new here.
    LIES LIES & MORE LIES
    Absolutely disgusting.
These people who covered up evidence should now be CONVICTED OF MISCONDUCT !

  6. God on Earth

How's that for Politics. We are Travelling back to Eden

    satan is here with me

the one in chains… the black man one…. the snake… the Mother… take your pick

They call her Mother Earth. To fool others

    She's here too

    Secret Services started with God

    Back to Eden

    Adam is here too…

    The Resurrection

    Jabulani Mondhlani

    Kingdom of God on Earth

  7. Ed Bollucks & Rodney Starmer need to stand down with immediate effect. They were both in powerful roles at the time and failed to get a handle on the matter. The public need to stand up and demand action.

  8. If he is really sincere about
his answer then he should give back the money he received from the Post Office legal team. The fact he received money for helping the Post Office case against innocently accused of which they committed perjury and perverted the course of justuce is enough for this man to not only say "sorry" but quietly retire from "public service".

  9. Gb news are reporting he was paid 5000 pounds a month by the solicitors that defended the post office in a class action against the post office workers.
