A fire broke out at the Novatek terminal last night. Information about the fire was confirmed by the governor of the Leningrad region, Alexander Drozdenko. According to him, there were no casualties, the port staff was evacuated. A high alert regime has been introduced in the Kingisepp district of the Leningrad region.

Before the fire, eyewitnesses heard explosions, several media outlets wrote. Fontanka writes that 2 UAVs attacked a gas storage facility in the port terminal at 3:20 a.m., when ships flying the flag of Panama were loading there.

On January 18 of this year, the Russian Ministry of Defense for the first time reported on a UAV attack on the Leningrad region. According to ASTRA, as a result of that attack, the drone fell and exploded on the territory of the St. Petersburg Oil Terminal.
