  1. Can’t wait for the rake of accounts insisting that it wasn’t the far right non-locals that the Gardai are investigating and was just “concerned locals” who only did it because the government didn’t consult them.

Honestly, the local groups in these cases usually come across as reasonable people who are willing to [welcome ](https://www.irishtimes.com/ireland/2024/01/17/were-here-for-the-long-haul-roscrea-protesters-dig-in-over-asylum-seeker-accommodation/)people but are concerned about an influx of new people into areas with already struggling services, and want nothing to do with the far right. But the far right national roadshow insist on showing up at everywhere they’re not wanted.

Edit: it’s been fun but I’ve spent enough time arguing with the lads who insist Finglas (in Dublin North West) is local to
Ballsbridge (in Dublin Bay South). There’ll only be more when the “just asking questions” crowd wake up so I’ll leave it there and go back to my life.

  2. I mean at this point I am concerned about migrants too, if we get more and more home grown lunatics every time we get migrants … We need to find a solution

I’d say get them in a plane to join their fascist cousin in the us and give their home to those obviously better behaved, less violent and more deserving humans that are migrants

  3. What was this supposed to accomplish? Did he think the security gaurd had any power to negotiate the terms of the accommodation. This whole fiasco is just meat headed scumbags seeing an opportunity to be violent and aggressive. Most of these knuckle draggers have probably never engaged politically in their lives but now see themselves as some sort of informed vanguard of the the Irish people when in reality they are just Facebook addicted dick heads lapping up misinformation and conspiracy theory’s.
If you have a problem or concerns with something in your area there are several avenues for you to take. Imagine if we all went around acting like these fucking loopers every time we arnt happy with something.

  4. Maybe it was a mental health issue? We shouldn’t rush to conclusions.

  5. The softy softy approach has failed with the far right as it was always going to! Shown if you give them an inch they’ll take a mile. It’ll get worse until someone dies

  6. Fintan didn’t have his Snickers, he’s a proper diva when he’s hungry /s

  7. Man I don’t even care anymore

Nobodies doing anything about it – the Garda don’t care, it doesn’t affect me – so yeah – this is just the new normal

  8. A 40 per cent tax payer wouldn’t behave like that

  9. Ireland’s hidden killer really is the amount of undiagnosed mental illness, it’s shocking

  10. Mark my words, somebody is going to end up getting killed before gardai finally decide to take the threat of the far right seriously. The it will be all about “nobody could have seen this coming” despite the fact that for at least the last year EVERYBODY can see this coming. You would think the riot would wake them up to it.

  11. Let me guess… there will be no arrests made, regardless of how “confidant” the Minister for Justice will declare she is.

The Garda Commissioner will tell us he knows who the perpetrators are, yet nothing will be done.

Leo Varadkar will issue yet *another* press release saying how terrible this behaviour is.

    That will be all.

  12. In fairness, we should be looking after our own felling.
