This is just one more step toward the one-party, Russia-esque government that Republicans have long dreamed of.
There is a point where you have to question if the 3 Supreme Court nominations by a former President who attempted insurrection should be reevaluated, along with many of the precedent-breaking judgments they’ve made. “Slippery Slope” “The GOP will do it right back” keeps giving a pass to openly favoritist rulings and absurd interpretations of existing law and the Constitution.
Isn’t this in itself unconstitutional? Guess that doesn’t matter anymore. The people who determine that are compromised.
First get rid of Thomas to at least get it back to 5/4 where Roberts can go back to his game of controlling the swing vote to maintain the appearance of propriety. Then add justices.
Let’s disqualify the Trump appointees in hindsight. Biden can compensate them by forgiving their student loans…
You know what? FINE. The right wants this so bad, let them do it!
These idiots have NO IDEA how much the hated, evil, “administrative state” does to keep them safe every day.
If they want to throw out every government regulation made since the 1970s and let corporations do whatever the fuck they want, let them.
Just take receipts. Record all the triumphant speeches, the bragging, the victory parties, everything.
And play them back once the USA goes to shit.
There are essentially no environmental regs anymore. Your tap water is full of God knows what, but it was the evil administrative state that kept the stuff that gives you cancer out of the water, so drink up, Republicans.
Your credit card company can now change the terms without telling you in advance, and your monthly interest rate is now 300%.
Internet, cell phones, those things didn’t exist before Chevron, so there are now ZERO rules governing them. Hell, cell phones probably won’t work at all in six months because of spectrum interference.
I’m sick of fighting, and there’s not much I can do to influence conservative Supreme Court justices anyway. Let the greedy, selfish, short-sighted right wingers have what they want.
Just remind everyone WHY the country is on fire next year and who wanted it that way.
Edit: Don’t forget that the impact will be far worse in red states that don’t have robust state laws and regulations to protect consumers, the environment, etc. Texas will be sheer anarchy.
A billionaires wet dream. Trash the earth and its people and then rocket themselves in space where they will slowly starve or be murdered in a mutiny
I’d like the Justices to read The Jungle by Upton Sinclair while they consider this. We are now almost exactly back to 1880-90s robber baron territory.
Pack the court
With occasional flaws, the Supreme Court was generally respected. Even when we disagreed we accepted that they tried their best to weigh the issues, law, precedent, and justice.
Now, we have three justices who lied to Congress to get on the bench, at least one or two who are regularly and continually bribed. And by playing with the proximity of elections, the Republicans stacked the court.
Now the justices serve their masters, helping to empower either a corporate take over or a fascist destruction of our democracy.
The conservative justices are traitors to all the nation stands for. Vote Red, and you too support these crimes against the nation. Vote anything but Blue and you are complicit.
At what point do we need to put an (R), (D) or (I) in front of their names to denote what party put them there? In a perfect world, we should not have to worry as we rely on a judges abilities to be unbiased but let’s face it…that’s impossible. Even if it’s completely honest, human beings are biased by nature. The fact that judges allow bias to advance the will of their party is just a malicious extent of that.
Articles that treat Supreme Court as a whole instead of saying “Republican Supreme Court justices” are ironically biased. We all know it’s the Republican nominated and backed Justices that are responsible for
Hopefully they will give presidents full immunity, so Biden can throw all the conservative justices in prison and appoint new non corrupt ones. 🤣
The Supreme Court only has power so long as the rest of the country allows it do so. I wouldn’t be surprised if within the next 5-10 years we reach the point where Democrat run states, and hopefully the White House, just stop listening to them.
There is going to be a point where Congress and the president will just ignore the Supreme Court as irrelevant.
“I recognise that the Council has made a decision. But given that it’s a stupid-ass decision, I’ve elected to ignore it.” – Future Executive Branch
Supremist Court.
FIFY.
At what point do we the people deem the court illegitimate?
When are Americans going to have a real French-style protest, and demand changes in this country?
Establish ranked choice voting, eliminate Super PACs, eliminate/regulate lobbying, make trading/investing as a politician illegal, abolish gerrymandering, set congressional term limits, expand the supreme court, add required qualifications to hold certain political offices, forbid convicted criminals from running for/holding office, uphold existing laws and policies, and establish new laws and policies that actually hold politicians accountable!
And politicians need to stop saying, “the American people want…” because 100% of the time it doesn’t represent anyone’s point of view but the schmuck who said it!
Well Biden has sweeping presidential immunity? Seal teal six the whole court and then appoint all new ones. Duh.

The fuck you are.
Congress has the ability to limit the scope of cases that come before SCOTUS – IMHO, once Democrats are elected to lead from the White House, House, and Senate, they should clip the feathers of the Roberts court – they are legislating from the bench – our forefathers never gave them that power. If the House and the Senate can’t get their shit together, that is their problem – we don’t need the Roberts court playing the role of playground monitors.

Supreme Court is bullshit
[They’ve been doing this for a while.](https://harvardlawreview.org/forum/vol-136/the-imperial-supreme-court/)
Anything that can change or shift this?
