Probably just forgot his constitutional rights don’t extend to Scotland.
Most of the comments, but not all, on the article are painful to read.
“Scottland” and “Edinburg” says everything you need to know about this rag
What’s more worrying is he was allowed through US security with a Taser. I doubt he would have bought it here.
It’s surprising that Americans have so little regard for checking what they may and may not carry into other countries. Or at least some of them.
So the guy probably forgot he’s got it among his things. A simple mistake, a slight oversight, and now his entire life is crumbling.
I think him being arrested and fired is a gross overreaction. It’s not like he would hijack a bleedin plane with it.
And before you all smartasses go “ooooh he should have known to triple check his things” let remind you of all the times you forgot something important.
People make mistakes, nobody is an exception.
Like whoever let the taser get through security in first place.
How did they immediately misspell both Scotland and Edinburgh.
All this fuzz, and the entire flight cancelled, because he had a taser in his luggage? It’s not even a real gun. All of this because he failed to declare it?
Was once behind a woman at security at Stansted. They asked if she was sure she didn’t have liquids. Guy pulled out a pepper spray :D. She was so clueless she laughed saying sorry she forgot is was there. The look of confusion on her face as the police came over was priceless.

My favourite comment was ‘I don’t blame him. They let illegals board with no ID or vetting’.
Because you definitely don’t need a passport to get through security, and then again at the gate.
Is that shit even schpell checced? Two mistake in the opening plarograph…
Given he’s at risk of getting hijacked, and we’ve all left our keys at home and locked ourselves out, I think we can make an exception.
