And a better portrait than Michael Dahl senior would be Johan David Schwartz’s portrait from Altranstädt, even if the king himself didn’t like it much himself when he first saw it.
Fun facts: In his older days, he insisted that all portraits was painted in a “warts and all” manner. Quite unusual for his time.
