It’s windy, here’s a little image showing where it’s all coming from. We’re getting battered!

  1. And this aged-up image shows approximately how Edd would look today…

  2. It’s actually not that bad here in Glasgow. I mean, okay, my neighbour’s wheelie bins have just started what appears to be a refuse-related orgy in the middle of the road, but it’s not that bad…

  3. I can’t sleep because I keep thinking about my beautiful new fences falling down, we replaced our old ones due to the last storm

  4. This reminds me of a friend in Scotland who went on Facebook a while ago to say it was really windy and his windows were getting “a right battering.”

Someone replied with: “You lot really will deep-fry anything…”

  5. Lost electric here about 20 minutes ago, pitch black outside. Place is getting hammered like a teenager getting fingered by the bins at chucking out time on a Friday night.

  6. How long is it meant to last for? I’m away on a overnight work trip on Tuesday and have a 2.5 hour drive 😒

  7. Mainland to the south-east of the eye and it’s surprisingly calm… for now!

  8. Yeah it’s just dawned on me that a south facing bedroom might have been the wrong choice for tonight

  9. London’s been very bad for a few hours now. Raining & violent winds

  10. Carmarthenshire here and the Brechfa forest is taking a battering not to mention Llanllwni mountain

  11. Got this all day tomorrow here in Tyne and Wear (don’t know about elsewhere), so I’m hoping the power holds up as I’m WFH.

Then it’s forecast to finally calm down Tuesday midnight. Then it starts all over again with the next storm Tuesday afternoon/evening.

Those pilots, and the people who work for the emergency services, along with the engineers who do the repairs for the areas with power cuts really earning their money right now.

  12. Nice weather for windmills, there’ll be flour a plenty on the morn’

  13. A friend went outside for a ciggy earlier. With her back to the wind, it kept blowing her hood up against her head and she kept increasingly angrily, shoving it back down until she suddenly turned around and shouted “STOP!!” at the weather. At the same time, the weather suddenly subsided and the wind dropped. We all stood in awe of the wind talker.

  14. Looks like the Faroe islands must be getting some interesting weather

  15. Quite bad here in East London, tree branches over the roads, bins flying around in the roads etc

  16. We’re getting off lightly in the south west. It’s a bit blowy, but I’m not afraid for my bins.

  17. I hate windy weather, as I live at the end of a wind tunnel, so the entire area’s litter always ends up piling in my garden & in front of the fence.

After last months storms, my fence is hanging on by a thread, but the sheer volume of litter actually made me anxious as everyone’s gardens & pavements outside their properties were spotless, as everything from leaves, litter, waste was piled infront of mine 🙁

  18. Been picking up a lot in Suffolk for the last few hours gusting 56 ish, the main bridge (Orwell) is closed which means nobody will be going anywhere fast tomorrow morning.

  19. Saw a women walking a very small dog earlier those 4 paws lifted. She collected her dog in her coat and turned back off their walk quite quickly.

  20. Pretty disappointing in Leeds. I’ve seen worse on a non named stormy day.

  21. The windmills should be powering all the Netflix this evening

  22. This feels like 90s growing up Manila.

Don’t worry, it only gets worse every year.

  23. Bloody foreign wind, coming over here, nicking our wheelie bins

  24. Bloody Atlantic winds, coming over here, taking our trampolines.

  25. Why is the wind going around Iceland? It’s like avoiding it?

  26. My windows are creaking so loudly it’s making me a little nervous… maybe a stupid question but are single glazed windows (I know) less sturdy and more likely to break?

  27. south west (bristol) my parasol which has a really heavy marble like base clamped to it has now moved from outside my back porch to half way up my garden, that must have been a gust and a half, obviously it would have got up into the parasol but still!
