I like the old machines, the ones where you push the mechanism in. Also accepted 2 1p coins stuck together with a piece of paper in the middle as a £1 coin (so I hear).

Back in our local, we used to stick a 1 Euro coin in, was big enough to trigger the ball release, but would drop through the coin slot after. Seems they upgraded them since the early 2000s
The layout here reminded me of a pub that’s no longer with us with an even shiter pool table and that makes me so so sad
