  1. Amazing that the US is producing more oil than any country in the history of the world and can’t fund it’s government. It’s not like rich people put the oil in the ground. It’s all of our oil. We should use that to fund the government. Yet all that oil money goes to rich people who avoid taxes.

    Exxon is nationalized in happier countries like Norway. Norway has no government debt, they have massive government wealth. The government of Norway owns Microsoft stock and Thai bonds and apartment buildings in Chicago.

    The US could obviously copy that approach. Alaska already does. Why let rich Texans have all the natural resource wealth?
