6 years ago today, on January 22, 2018, some Turkish people attacked to Afrika/Avrupa Newspaper’s office, with the order from Turkey. They attacked because of a title that Afrika had recently published: “another occupation movement from Turkey” because Turkey had launched an operation in Afrin, North Syria.

They threw stones and shattered the windows. They climbed from the balcony and tried to enter the office. They put a Turkish flag on Afrika Newspaper’s office, and they put an Ottoman flag on the roof of the trnc parliament. Trnc police did nothing to stop this protest. And when ex-trnc president Mustafa Akıncı came to the protest area, some of the protesters even attacked to Akıncı.

6 years from this protest, those 9 people, who are in this movement hasn’t been captured by the police.

This day marks a dark spot on the history. This day shows that how fascism started to threaten the Cypriots and Cyprus.
