In the future, Europe might buy military equipment from Ukraine.
I’m for this. But do not overestimate the power of the U.K. It is enough to make Russia wary, since we can close their sea access but the problem we have is that we don’t have a lot of stuff to help out with. On the flip side, we have nukes as an implicit threat and our threshold for action is much lower relatively to sa y Germany or France.
Europe has the money but lacks the equipment, it seems to me we should be buying what Ukraine needs from American stockpiles. Win, win, win.
I’m British and very pleased with this agreement. Hopefully other countries will also have agreements of a similar nature in place soon. Civilisation and civilised nations need to stand together against countries that try to impose their will on another country; be that for subjegation, financial gain or natural resources.
‘And the Brits aren’t messing about with what they hope it will achieve – one section states: “The Participants will seek to ensure that Ukraine’s military capabilities are at such a level that, in the event of external military aggression against the United Kingdom, Ukraine is able to provide effective military assistance.” ‘
I know Ukraine is fighting for Europe right now, and I do not want more wars to break out in the future, but I do love the idea of Ukrainian troops coming to save the day in some imagined conflict.
Picture the scene: British troops are huddled in a bunker, rocked by explosions, as they prepare what might be their last cup of tea while the enemy shelling intensifies. Suddenly hardbass starts pumping at a volume which would deafen god as missiles streak down to devastate the enemy artillery positions. Heavy APC drones swoop in, troops pour out with a cry of “Slava Ukraini!” and storm the enemy trenches.
“Thank god,” exclaim the battered British forces, “the Ukrainians are here!”

As a Brit this makes me very proud.
