Wasn’t Turkey founded as a secular state? Or have I got that wrong?
Reality is bigger than this graphic according to Hacettepe University’s 2020 religious rate stats in Z generation,18 students out 20 are identified themselves as either deists or atheist,on top of that people are often don’t mention about their religion wiew due to authoritarian regime that is exist in Turkey.
Good
I feel that will the older generations passing on we’ll see a shift, I don’t think religion will play as big a part in life in the next 40-50 years as it does now, personally I think that is a great way to be heading, religion has lead to so much negativity in the world, the sooner it goes the better.
New generation sees Islam as Erdoğan’s religion and not as prophets religion, and so as hate against Erdoğan increases among new generation they cast away everything Erdoğan related including Islam, we never had a single leader among us who created so much hate against religion like Erdoğan did before, ever.
Interesting, so based on that it would take 180 years for their religion/s to die out
A poll made for religious view of r/Turkey if anyone interested:
I have known too many turkish guy and more than half is deist+atheist. There is a huge number of young generation who hide their religious ideas from family and others due to family and society pressure. It will appear in statistics with drastic increase in near future.
There is 4 atheist (including me) in my 24 people classroom
