If we just make a few more jokes about it and repeat the searing insight to each other that “those guys old” about a thousand more times then surely some magic shit will happen and they’ll transform into the spry young candidates we definitely deserve with all the easy answers, and we won’t have to face our own apathies or limited understandings, or talk to each other about hard questions, or grapple with policy priorities or intractable issues at the core of who we are as a country. Any day now.
For the sake of truly entertaining the American people, I suggest a Reality show for each of them. This will not only entertain but also solve a political disaster by totally eliminating the two from the presidential race. No one in their right mind will seriously consider them for the office after they see them behind the scenes… It’s a Win Win!
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: the Democratic Party would rather lose the country than lose the party, and the Republican Party would rather lose the party than lose the country.
That’s why the Democratic Party is immune to doing things voters actually want, and the Republican Party doesn’t even hesitate to embrace batshit insanity that would bring shame and disgrace to an ordinary country. The Republican Party wants Trump to be Louis XIV, and the Democratic Party wants to pretend like it’s the 1980s.
I cannot wait for these debates if they are even allowed to happen at this point. Or any platform where they have to answer un prepare questions that are actually difficult or meaningful.
Haven’t watch the skit and I’m sure it’s funny, but actual news organizations can be annoying when they equivocate the ages of both of them as an explanation for looniness of Trump.
One is clearly more incoherent and it ain’t the oldest one.
It would have been funny if it weren’t so sad.
