Serhiy Nigoyan was killed ten years ago today, becoming the first protestor to be shot dead by Yanukovych’s thugs during the Revolution of Dignity. A proud Armenian-Ukrainian, his parents had moved to Ukraine to escape the first Nagorno-Karabakh War. He was an only child.

  1. Rest in peace brave one!

    Thank you for posting.

    Slava Ukraini!!

  2. Here in Dnipro, Ukraine we have Serhia Nihoyana Avenue in memory of the first sacrifice of the war.

  3. He was not a child: he was a man and warrior!!

Спи спокійно, брате. Дивись щоб у вирії не було покидьків.

  4. No matter what race our heroes belong to. Nigoyan was a first sparkle of our anger against devil.
He was a wonderful person. Rest in peace dear Nigoyan

  5. Could you do this God forsaken world a favor? Post this once a year. Remind us.

  6. So many fallen heroes. I first learned about him in the documentary winter on fire on YouTube. They had interviews with him on the square when he was alive and at the time I didn’t know he was dead. The “oh shit, they shot that guy from earlier” was quite an emotional twist for me.

Rest easy hero. If we all give a fraction of what you gave, then we will be victorious

  7. God speed to his parents, may the have found a way to bear the pain.
