Serhiy Nigoyan was killed ten years ago today, becoming the first protestor to be shot dead by Yanukovych’s thugs during the Revolution of Dignity. A proud Armenian-Ukrainian, his parents had moved to Ukraine to escape the first Nagorno-Karabakh War. He was an only child.

11. So many fallen heroes. I first learned about him in the documentary winter on fire on YouTube. They had interviews with him on the square when he was alive and at the time I didn’t know he was dead. The “oh shit, they shot that guy from earlier” was quite an emotional twist for me.

    Rest easy hero. If we all give a fraction of what you gave, then we will be victorious
