1. The European Union will send 150 million euros of aid to Tunisia. The money will be wired directly to their treasury. The Tunisian State, which is facing financial difficulties, needs cash to buy subsidized milk, bread, rice and oil, which are currently facing chronic shortages.

2. Why not spending those 150 milions in helping europeans? Dont we have poverty in europe?

5. that 150 million is impotent, because it will stop potential starving refuges. One of the few ways to have less refuges in our country, without gray human rights, is to stop the crises before they happen, so they have no need to come. This is a good win-win for both sides.

6. The racism of this sub has got so intense that now even a relatively small amount of aid is being questioned. Funny because many of the world’s problems are from the west meddling historically and recently, yet without the aid we give, the amount of refugees would be even higher.

8. The EU should link the monetary aid with a demand that Tunisia, 1. Stop all departures of migrants towards Europe. 2. Take back all Tunisian citizens who are currently illegally in Europe.

    We should have supported Tunisia much much more in that window where they were fully democratic and struggling. They should have had the most favored trade agreement. Now we are sending money to a corrupt dictator. We are so effing stupid.

14. I know people love complaining about giving aid money to other countries when life is hard hard
    , but actually, this is good. Everyone should support this.

    Just imagine, if there is a real humanitarian crisis , people will risk their life and come to Europe. All those people who didn’t want to come but had no option … then you have to pay a bill for people already here who can’t work or give back to society due to language barriers, etc …

    Strong, rich countries should help and support poor countries… otherwise, people will just risk their lives and come here anyway…
