Scapegoating Tuchel misses the big picture and ignores the root of the problem.
When they hired Tuchel for me it was clear that they brought him to fix the defense and make the team more solid, bringing it to a new level, but instead they released 4 defenders, only signed 1 and signed no CDMs. Now I suspect they brought Tuchel to do some damage control and risk management while the squad transitions into something else.
At the end of this season, regardless of the results, they will probably sack him and go for Xabi Alonso or another trendy coach that most likely will also get sacked in around two years, which is the pattern the team has fallen into in terms of signing coaches, which is one of the reasons that have us fans struggling to see this team’s identity.
