  1. Hamas will either be ready to accept this now, or they will be ready to accept it after a few more weeks of fighting.

  2. “We will pause for 2 months. Then come back and wipe the rest of you from existence. Or, that could also be a lie, which it probably is. We actually will only pause long enough so we don’t shoot any more of our people when they are being released. Then, back to the extermination.”

    Israel, probably.

  3. Hamas won’t accept that, Netanyahu and everybody knows Hamas won’t accept that that’s why it’s offered. Hamas in turn will counter that, with terms of surrender that is ‘in effect’ for Israel to surrender to them because they know Israel won’t accept it too. They really aren’t in a hurry to surrender, they are in a way like Netanyahu, they want to prolong the war as long as it can because they are winning this way.

For Netanyahu it’s for self survival, he doesn’t want to face all those charges which will land him in jail.

For Hamas, the more Israel bombs Gaza and the more it takes longer, the more time they can buy for people to keep on talking about the conditions of Palestinians in their 75 years of struggle against Israel occupation, people now know more about the Palestine-Israel situation than ever before, this in turn makes Hamas more popular and ensures more recruitment for them in the future.

Gazan people and Israeli hostages are just pawns for Netanyahu and Hamas.

  4. So what happen if they attack and get some new hostages during this 2 month period?

  5. Hamas won’t accept, Netanyahu knew Hamas won’t accept that, that’s why he offered it, because their goal is very much the same and that’s to prolong the war as much as it can because both are winning this way.

For Netanyahu it’s for self preservation and survival, he doesn’t want to face all those charges which will land him in jail. So he’s making sure this goes on as long as it can.

Gazan people and Israeli hostages are just pawns they move on the chessboard for Netanyahu and Hamas.

  6. Hamas won’t accept of course, despite the fact that for everyone involved *but* Hamas this is a good deal.

Not that it matters anyways, Hamas doesn’t keep peace treaties or ceasefires.

The thing that Hamas wants Israel will never give: Their survival. Hamas members are corpses walking; it’s just a matter of time.

  7. Negotiating with terrorists is a bit of a fool’s errand but godspeed.

  8. Negotiating with Hamas is a complete waste of time. It’s Hamas. They all have to die.

  9. I think they know Hamas won’t release all the hostages. But I think it’s possible Hamas accepts the offer and goes back on it before releasing all hostages.

If they’re releasing 130 hostages over 2 months, they could get a month of no conflict while also keeping 65 hostages. Id hazard a bet Israel knows this but still sees it as worth it to get some hostages back.

Hamas are under more pressure than before with the IDF uncovering more tunnels with evidence of usage left behind (weapon making equipment, evidence of hostages etc.). The break will be much needed for Hamas.

  10. Just agree to whatever Hamas wants (as long as they release all hostages at once) and then bomb them into oblivion and just continue to annihilate them

  11. Let the peace stand and just stop all of the bloodshed and warfare for both sides. Stop tallying and justifying which has more losses, which is right. Just end it.

  12. Why not just stop – yeah I know too much to ask

  13. I thought the whole reason for the war was getting the hostages back? Guess not.

  14. Israel is in a clear pickle here. On the one hand, there are 130+ hostages whose families beg the government that failed them for help. On the other hand, the decision to eliminate Hamas is 100% crucial and was already made, so negotiation between two sides who vow to kill the other side right after the deal is done is not very useful.

  15. If any consideration for their local population was in the plan, this could have been a roadmap out. Maybe add the Hamas leadership and org going exile ( same as plo went to Tunisia back in the day).
Unfortunately, I do not think they have the inclination to reduce suffering as they see that as a tool for destabilizing any agreement with Israel.
And while getting Israel to agree to certain terms will ensure these are adhered to, they do not see themselves committed to these the same way ( and frankly, it does not look like the international community has any expectation of them doing so).

  16. This will give massad time to conduct secret assassinations.
