  1. >TikToker Zaki then posted a video telling followers: “Barclay Primary School is basically saying that if you support Palestine, you’re going to become a terrorist – or you already are one.”

Cunty social media “influencers” taking rage-baiting for views/money too far, as usual. And obviously the asshole will face zero consequences for his major part in this whole chain of events.

It’s about time social media be looked at closer to find a way to appropriately moderate and take action against blatant harmful misinformation. It’s ultimately much easier and more effective to attack the source, rather than try to stop/educate thousands of idiot viewers blindly believing what they see online and overreacting to it.

Arrest the bomb threatening extremist, then go after the person that unnecessarily triggered him in the first place.

  2. This is a comment I wrote about the original situation when it broke, however the sub was restricted so it was never posted. Before someone replies to this with something stupid I just want to say obviously a bomb threat is fucking crazy no matter what has happened previously. Hopefully, it is just an empty threat and everyone’s ok.

The crux of this issue I think is that the school claims it’s apolitical and children shouldn’t be used to push political agendas (both reasonable views imo) but fail to follow it consistently.

The school puts out a statement saying that the school entirely apolitical (“At any point in the year and in previous years we have numbers of conflicts and tensions worldwide … these should not be brought into school”), and that children shouldn’t be used as “adults political pawns to push an agenda”.

Only problem now is that another letter written by them is spreading that they sent out to parents after Russia invaded Ukraine.

    Apparently the school can write:

“Everything in life seems slightly trivial when you compare what’s happening in Ukraine and to its people”

“I see pictures of what’s happening in Ukraine and can only imagine how horrendous it must be for the citizens of this country to have such death and destruction suddenly thrust upon them”

“the aggressor is a nuclear power with – what it appears – little regard for the opinion of the west”

And it is entirely apolitical. But a kid wears a Palestine pin or a pice of clothing with the flag on it and it’s extremely political.

What’s worse is apparently kids showing concern for what’s happening in Palestine is them being used as political pawns to push an agenda. But after the Russian invasion, obviously it’s entirely natural for kids to show “a palpable sense of concern of anxiety amongst the pupils”, and for kids to have “genuine concerns that the conflict might escalate and somehow involve western democracies in an even more destructive war”.

In fact the school is so apolitical they’ve “delivered assemblies on the subject which have been supplemented by whole class discussions”. I wonder how the Russian students felt about that?

Because I feel like there’s more chance of kids becoming frightened from that then there is from children “came (coming) to school dressed in either Palestinian colours, or wearing badges, jewellery and stickers. This overt demonstration of political beliefs comments made on social media or our parents whatsapps groups that could be deemed offensive to some members of the school community.”

But truly for the icing on the cake “At any point in the year and in previous years we have numbers of conflicts and tensions worldwide that can affect any number of families in different ways and can provoke tensions, opinions and viewpoints. These should not be brought into school or acted out in parent whatsapp groups that can easily be misconstrued as offensive or divisive and in some cases a form of extremism.”

So in plain text they’ve admitted that they’re so apolitical that any conflict should not be brought into school, unless it is the Russian – Ukraine one because obviously the death of Ukrainian civilians is an entirely different matter.

  3. Fucking hell!

Terror acts like this need to be treated more seriously, or we’ll end up like American where these type of targeted treats are happing a lot more.

  4. this is just disgraceful, and is a common theme. a teacher in batley is in hiding for showing a cartoon. a 14 year old boy accidently kicked a book and got multiple death threats, his mum had to wear a hijab and beg the locals not to kill her son.

movies get cancelled because of threats, people get murdered globally for cartoons and books.

    revolting

  5. “Education is under attack”

    “yeah… From you”
