May their memory be a blessing.
Such sad and tragic news.
Edits with updates:
Reports in Israeli media suggest an RPG hit a tank stationed between two buildings being set up for demolitions. The strike triggered a chain explosion of demolition charges in the area of operations, collapsing the buildings on the engineering unit.
This marks the second time Hamas has managed to set off a deadly secondary, the previous one taking out ten engineers demolishing a tunnel system.
There will absolutely be demands to replace ground demolitions with heavier air strikes again as a result, or at a minimum calls to reverse face on the ‘low intensity’ part of the conflict
Edit again: the main article now updated so I don’t have to
since netanyahu rejected hamas’ latest insane proposal and hamas stated the hostages would not be returned period – seems to me there’s no reason to keep sacrificing soldiers on the ground like this. bring in the air force and be done with it.
>An initial probe reveals the explosion occurred when a combined force of infantry, armored and engineering troops worked to prepare a secure area in the center of the Gaza Strip in advance of the end of the war.
In response to the incident, Israeli Defense Minister Gallant said:
>The death of the soldiers commands that we achieve our objectives in the war.

Why do they need to level all infrastructure? Why does Israel need to leave Gaza complete wasteland?
This is terrible. I kinda feel like there needs to be a better strategy in the campaign to destroy Hamas. The IDF has leveled and destroyed so many terrorist hideouts over all these months and yet these terrorist keep popping up and taking potshots at the IDF.
Soldiers die performing war crimes.
*worst
Who writes these awful headlines?
Where are the “unfortunately it’s war, soldiers die in war” comments? Or do the bots only have this phrase ready when civilians die?
lol 21 soldiers after they have been bombing children…. cry me a river… find a fucking solution already
Idf crying after killing 20k civilians since Oct 7
Is it? Is it the worst incident in Gaza since October 7?
Unfortunately I believe the number has gone up to 28.
ת.נ.צ.ב.ה.
IDF will now raze everything to ground they see suspicious with heavy airstrike
Evil genocidal monsters killed while trying to murder civilians in a campaign of ethnic cleansing. Oh noooooo…
Sad that both palestinian and israel civilians have to pay the price for another mess that europeans created, then israel made it worse by invading another nation/disrespecting borders, and hamas made sure it won’t ever have a peaceful solution, great job to all those involved…
Did they actually get a rocket dropped on them while trying to destroy Gazan infrastructure, causing the explosion to be worse than if they just simply weren’t doing that?
This is war, none of the people died were civilians. This is not really comparable to October 7th.
