Hello there, just like most people my train ticket has also been cancelled and I really need to take this train. The DB Navigator app is informing me about another ICE train, however I don’t know when this train departs, or any other important information. What am I supposed to do? Can I just use another train (ICE) to the same destination with my cancelled ticket?

  1. I guess that your train was cancelled, not your ticket.

If you booked train in cancelled you are allowed to take any other train to get to your destination.

  2. Yes. Canceled trains remove the train binding of tickets. Also due to the upcoming strike, DB has some more goodwill rules, see their homepage for info.

Also the replacement train has the same schedule than the old one.

Note: There will be a strike from tomorrow on. If you REALLY need to get to Munich in time, I would consider going today if possible. Or as early as possible.

  3. Yes you are able to use any ICE train that day between your departure and arrival cities.
